More front legroom possible?

Featured Replies

I had a Mk1 Octavia a couple of years ago, and while the economy was fantastic and the reliability amazing, I just couldn't get comfortable in it.  Mine was the SLX which had height adjustable driver's seat but however I adjusted the seat it gave me terrible pains in my thigh after the long (an hour or so) drive to work.

If it had another inch of movement in the seat runners then all would have been fine.  Is it possible to move the seat runners back on the floorpan, or is there some other way of improving things?

I've just had a look at some road tests and it says there's 112cm of legroom in the front, that's as much as our old Volvo where I could barely hold the clutch down when the seat was all the way back.  I'm 6'2" tall with fairly long legs but I'm not like Mr Tall, 34" inside leg according to my trousers.

Thanks!

I'm quiet tall and never had an issue in VRS,

I did find tilting the seat down at back uncomfortable but never had much of an issue apart from that,

I had a CG lock fitted aswell that held me in seat

The horizontal handle on the side of the seat.. Pump it down until it wont no more then move the entire seat all the way back.

Maybe it was just lack of support under the thighs, I know that winding the lumbar support in to make a longer seat cushion helped a bit.

I'll maybe try a Golf to see if the seats are better, thanks for the help everyone

just make sure you get the recaro made ones rather than the recaro style ones, you can tell this by the slight dip below the headrest.  Here is a pic of them from my old vw
