Been thinking about changing exhaust system mainly for sound rather than power as my remap is already close to clutch wrenching limit, so I assume not much point trying to go for more power!

I have also noticed that they do 2 versions i.e. non-resonator and resonator (quieter). Which one is better to go for as I want non boomy sound when driving normally but want it to sound special when I'm "On it"?

Personally, I'd go for the one with the resonator as it "diffuses" the sound at normal cruising speeds No significant performance impact either!

Not sure about diesels but on a impreza i used to have i fitted a magnex centre (non silenced) pipe and backbox, this sounded great - i then had a magnex downpipe fitted and WOW!!! the thing sounded twice as loud.

The only problem i had after fitting the down pipe was with overboost - as soon as you were nailing the thing it would overboost and it was as though someone had grabbed the back of the car and you nearly went through the screen :(

The benefit of a sports downpipe seems to be helping the turbo spool up quicker (sounds a lot louder) - apart from that i don't think you'd notice the extra couple of BJP when driving.
