vRS oil change g/box

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Had a quick scan for any info can't see any... If anyone with info or a link please send it my way!

Got my self a 11 plate vRS with I think 30k on it now and looking to give it a big service including dropping gear oil.

has anyone done gear oil change? I had a quick look can't see a how too and I beleive it isn't as straight forward as dropping and putting fresh in.

You do not need to do a DSG Oil change in a DQ200 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG.

(it was supposed to be sealed for life and not part of any VW / Skoda Service Schedule or Maintenance Guidelines.)

But.

There is a Service Campaign for Skoda to Change the Synthetic Oil to Mineral.

Check the Mechatronics Control Unit and do a Software Update.

That is Free if your DSG has Synthetic Oil in from the Factory.

(this is how it was done in New Zealand.)

So check if your Vehicle Needs a Field Action for Anything, and also Call Skoda UK Customer Services to check.

You can then get that done at a Skoda, VW, Seat or Audi Main Dealership.

?

What kind of Big Service are you doing other than Oil & Filter, Air Filter if needed, and Pollen Filter if

not done at 2 years or needing doing?

?

Are you changing the Spark Plugs, Fuel Filter and Brake Fluid?

That's usefull info thanks.

Yeah I was going to change all filters, fluids and spark plugs. I may as well take it to my local skoda dealer and get him to do it since there ain't any gearbox oil to change.

I would not do that.

If you have no Warranty with Skoda.

Use a good Independent and get good parts in.

Not the NGK Spark Plugs the Dealers fit.  Maybe get DENSO Spark Plugs.

Use your our good Oil bought for less than the Dealers,  5w 40 Full Synthetic VW 502 00 will be fine,

& not the Castrol or Quantum Long life lll 5w 30 Full Synthetic they will use.

If you were going to change the Gearbox oil yourself,

changing the Engine Oil, and Filters your self is easy.

The Spark Plugs are not Difficult, you just need an Ignition Coil Puller, or make one.

Easier to Buy or borrow one though.

The Brake Fluid was due a change at 3 years, and might or might not have been,

?

Do you have a Service record with the car.

Just Nosey, where did it come from, is it a Scottish Registered car?

I think it's probably burned 2.5l in 10k so not that bad.

I don't have a tesco near me... I used to put v power in but it's a 40 mile round trip for fuel,,. Bad enough getting for my race car lol

I was thinking in middle silencer out and that would be it... Not really want to tinker too much.
