  1. We can count on the chargers that will be getting used for the ECO Rally are in full working order. At that time anyway.
  2. I was passed a huge parking area with some very bright coloured cars and then realised it was new BYD,s and not just the small ones. Not able to stop. Looking forward to going back that way and stopping to get a closer look see at them. PS. European and Asian / far eastern car manufacturers have their factories in Europe, some in Hungary which is energy rich became Russia allows them to get the electricity and gas. No sanctions happening over that. Even VW group takes advantage of that special relationship that the EU likes to ignore.
  3. The real p|th take us the Hire Car delivery drivers are tag teaming two of the chargers. They take one car off and wait in it til another of their drivers arrived and put that car in. While their company takes advantage private or business drivers are heading off to BP or now more commonly the Arnold Clark chargers. I did tell one driver about the chargers around the back that I now use.
  4. Edinburgh Airport. Park and Ride. 7 X 50 kW chargers. 4 out of service and 3 working. Same old same old. Thank goodness I am in a diesel and waiting about not going through the carry on with cards not starting the 3 that are powered up and people needing to phone to get started. Then hitting the emergency stop to stop charging.
  5. Warning. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/513601-warning-bosch-oil-filter-for-1.2-tsi-ea111-cbzacbzb
  6. On the 1.4 TSI Twincharges to check the Oil cold and the Oil & operating temp you could do the getting oil hot thing. Or do a simple test. Cold dip. Get in car or just reach in. Turn on the ignition, fire engine and run about a few seconds. turn off, dip it. You got the same reading. The Filters were different on the Twinchargers from the Black ones, that then changed to the Silver. People messed up the readings. Also the 3.6 litres was never enough oil. 3.9 / 4.0 litres was nd is the correct quantity. & 1.3 litres low, the Low Oil pressure might show before the Low Oil Warning. It is not rocket science, just checking the oil. But then if you trust it was right at the service that can bite you in the bum. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/306306-word-of-warning-dipping-vrs-oil-level But these might use oil, and worse still start off with not enough oil, and if not checked before warnings you were 1/3rd low. Page 2. 25th November 2016 & we are doing Jabazuma oil checks. Start the cold engine and stop it again. Oil up in the top. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/417842-mow-much-oil-is-half-up-the-dip-stick/page/2 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/417842-how-much-oil-is-half-the-dip-stick
  7. The Tyre thread that keeps on giving. What is available now in your country in the size & is the price good for All Season tyres pre the busy buying / fitting time for people getting ready for winter? Are there tyres they are clearing because the New Generation / Evolution of tyres will be arriving?
  8. It is as simple as that. See where the oil is cold in the sump. Pre engine fired up. All drained down. That level in a 1.2 TSI might well be higher up the dipstick that after 10 miles of driving, oil up to 90*oC or so, stopped a few minutes. (A few is a few, 4 or 5.) Oil Filter up top of engine. Different filters 2010-2011, 2011 on. Different Oil Capacity as well. As long as enough in, and as long as not overfilled.
  9. @Cptalexaa Your 1.6 TDI CR has a Cambelt not a chain.
  10. Maybe time that there were smaller Tesla models to suit more World Regions. & built in Europe. Or is it too late for that?
  11. . Cost to charge, off peak, home work maybe 7 pence a kWh or even less. 6.2 pence. Public Charging , Ultra Rapid maybe 60 pence to 90 pence. Loads of money. More than running a diesel if it is just fuel cost. But if the EV is much more efficient and get near 6 miles to a kWh then things get better / less expensive.. 500 miles divided by 85 kWh is 5.8 miles a kWh. Lovely if that is what the minimum efficiency was, loaded, cold weather etc. Long range so longer time between charges is not worth that much if the car is not comfortable for hours of non stop driving. IMO. So 473 miles.... Now we are at 5.56 miles a kWh, WLTP. Not real world. I would have one just on looks. But it would need to be comfy for 3 hours without getting out, then comfy for another 3 after an hour or so of a break. 150 miles then another 150 miles. That is a 7 hour trip.
  12. @Ronxy89 I suggest if you are getting a Low Oil warning message /light and are putting in 0.5 litres you are running the car with too little oil. 3.9 litres and a warning might be when the oil is as much as 1 litre to 1.3 litres low. Be sure you put in enough oil, 0.5 litres is not enough in a 2012 1.2 TSI. From warning to correct level. Does it get 3.9 litres filled in at oil changes? Do you check the Oil at normal operating temperature and have it in Area A on the dipstick. You are working the oil hard if running a lower quantity.
  13. Brake Fluid changes used to be first at 2 years then went to first at 3 years then each 2 years. Now back to each 2 years. Haldex was at 4 years / 40,000 miles, then 3 years / 30,000 miles. Still not always a proper service. Other like Volvo were @ 20,000 / 2 years. ................. VAQ FRint diffs were @ 3 years / 30,000 miles and many were never told required, or 'It is optional'. Now it is at 2 years / 20,000 miles.
  14. Service Desk staff, Service Managers, on job training, and Up-selling. Ask the Dealer Principal, or the Area Manager, even the Groups Director or Directors, is it their Policy. The Unique position that VW Group UK and Skoda, SEAT, VW & Audi took with the 5 year / 50,000 miles over therest of Europe / EU is what is really strange. But then there were other countries / regions with only 2 year warranties and not 3. VW Group Main Dealerships liked car to sell with FMDSH and that history to their Guidance, Recommendations, schedule or specification. It is nice for them that vehicles with over 50,000 miles had the cambelt done already. PS Always worth asking if the Master Tech is available and if they recommend the Cam Belt replacement. Personally with a keeper i know how i drive a car and full servicing and maintenance is just 'Simply Clever' if doing the miles and having the vehicle for many years. As for a 1.5TSI ACT. That i would just not have as a keeper.
  15. @Ayeshen I was going to suggest who you might approach to see about having the upgrade but then spotted your location. Is DCC offered on cars in your location and could you go try one if up for sale anyplace and see if you think worth spending on having retro fitted?
