Spec detail on SEL Octavia

Featured Replies

I am slightly confused about what is fitted as standard on the SEL with respect to the internal rear view mirror. I think it is the auto-dimming variety, although it does not expressly say so in the brochure, but in the Optional equipment section for the Bi-Xenon HLs there is one price for theSE & Greenline which includes "rain sensor and auto-dimming mirror" and a cheaper otion for the SEL which leaves out that bit. This would imply logically that the SEL already has them.

However on several brokers sites under options the Auto-dimming mirror is shown as a separate option.

Can anyone who has an Elegance/SEL clarify this please?

I can confirm that on my Octavia Elegance (Jan 2014) the rain sensing wipers and auto dimming rvm were standard. Please note this is an Irish spec car so not sure if the same goes for UK spec.

Well my MY16 Octavia SEL (UK Spec) came with rain sensing wipers and auto dimming rear view mirror as standard. Hope this helps.

UK SE-L has Intelligent Light Assist as standard. This is basically full Light assistant (so auto lights, auto wipers) plus an Auto dimming RVM. It also has high beam assist...the diode for it is housed in the base of the mirror holder by the humidity sensor for the climate control.

Dont worry the car has full light assistant. High Beam Assist doesnt work fantastically well being diode rather than camera based but its useful enough; just a bit slow to react under certain sets of circumstances.

My UK spec MY16 SE -L also had the auto dimming rear view mirror and rain sensing wipers.

Thanks for replies, it seems as if the online broker sites may be trying to get one to pay £125 for something that is standard equipment!

Or Skoda is misinforming them, or there has been a spec change, or Skoda have no clue what the car comes with. All very possible scenarios! :-S

I have a feeling checking the online configurator for what options are available (and not because they are standard) may be a good way to go?

But, as we know, the configurator can also be inaccurate, misleading and confusing. For example, it's only in the November brochure revision that they've stopped claiming that the SE L comes with a 4 spoke steering wheel that was done away with in May.

The configurator at present is useless, as the ONLY Octavia SEL you can "configure" is a 1.4Tsi manual. all the other types have disappeared, I am guessing this is something to do with the CO2 scandal?

However it has not previously offered the Heated and Autodimming rvm as an option.
