Broken Rear Seat Catch

Featured Replies

Hi, I am wondering if anyone could help. The rear seat catch/latch in my fabia VRS 2006 is broken. When the handle is pulled it does not release the latch, so I am unable to fold the seat down. How do I replace this, or get into the latch to release it? Any help will be grateful. Thank you.

The rear panels on the seats are just a interference fit into a channel in seat frame.

Go around with a screwdriver gently levering off the rear panel, you will have access then to the catch mech.

Hi Coskev

Thanks for the info. I have tried with a screwdriver, but the panel seems to be glued onto the seat frame. Could pull it off, but don't have the glue to stick it back on with.

Cheers

My bad,I'm talking through my arse sorry!

It's the material that comes off the back panel,so you've got a bigger job than it seems.

You need to carefully lever out the material from the metal frame,it's got a plastic piece stapled to the material then this is pushed into the Channel on the metal seat frame.

Then you need to pull the material and seat foam away from the frame to access the catch.
