Nearside door lock issues

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Sorry, typical newbie and apologies if this has been covered, but my nearside (passenger) door won't unlock. 2006 Fabia VRS. I've seen posts about the driver's side lock, but nothing about the passenger side. The door:

  • Won't unlock on the fob;
  • No keyhole, so won't unlock that way;
  • Won't unlock on interior central locking switch;
  • Won't unlock using the interior door handle (the button rises as the handle is pulled, but then drops back when released).

I've tried all sorts of combinations of unlocking, but no joy. It's as if the deadlock won't disengage.

It's the only door with a problem, all others unlock with the remote fob.

Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be or how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

you need a new door lock. exact same issue as you will have seen on the driver (and every door) on the fabia.

You are going to have to remove dorr card and the carrier, plus smash the lock out. Use the search, but you will probably be saying goodbye to your door card if its the front (there's 3 screws under the door card you can't undo with it closed).
