Hi people I know it's prob been covered before but who's had remap and dpf delete on the mk 2 Octy vrs pre fl mine is a 2.0 pd lump

Does it make it better and do u get more power out of the engine?

Also do they do a exhaust system for one and I don't like the twin tip at the back... any advice be good [emoji3]

Also who the best at doing these I'm in Essex

I had the dpf delete and remap on my 2008 pd vRS. I got 218bhp from the car, rolling road proven however, I wouldn't recommend it now. There was a new law brought out on 9th December making it illegal for manufacturers to produce and sell dpf delete and software. Legal action will be brought against companies who are caught. Don't do it.

On the plus side, you can get a remap up to about 210bhp with the dpf remaining. Look up DTUK, who are doing well in the remapping field.

I spent the last 4 years sweating it out each time the car went for it's MOT expecting to be told it was a failure, but some how I got lucky. I've now sold the car and got a 2014 vRS diesel, and on this one, the dpf will be remaining.

i got 212 bhp 345ft lb torque dyno proven with a stage 1 map with dpf in tact , have considered dpf delete but not sure its worth the aggro , performance torque is my recommended tuner

So I guess a knock on effect will be that the end user will also be held responsible.

On the plus side, I still have my original DPF taken off my 2008 vRS for sale. It was removed in 2009 and had only covered 9000 miles, it's like new!

Yh not sure how long mine will last as it's always doing a regeneration and it smells sometimes when cat has been running a while

So its not a new law, its just stating what everyone knew anyway, that the process is illegal and it will be pursued, with the addition of those who offer the service.

The person responsible before was the owner anyway. The law has always clearly stated it is illegal to drive a vehicle which has had its emissions system tampered with so that it no longer performs how it should. I had a link to a .gov that stated in clear wording that removing the DPF contravened that portion of the RTA regardless of the MOT (some people seem to confuse passing the MOT with complying with the law). I think this is more off the back of the VW scandal so that they can close any potential future loopholes.

I only briefly read the post. I know it was the owners responsibility before, but like you said, I think the whole VW scandle has brought this all back to the forefront of discussions regarding emissions. Still, food for thought for anyone considering removing their DPF.

I had my car de-dpffed and remapped by a company in Braintree. They were convenient and cheap and did the job. Nothing outstanding, I think the garage they used to do the surgery broke my engine cover, but I anot 100% on that. Anyway, it was done in a day and had been ok. Although my car has faults, its not their work thats the problem.
