Lost the speedometer needle led light now engine in safe mode !

Featured Replies

Hello I've owned a 2011 1.8tfsi 4x4 elegance model for 2 years now & it's been a great car but things have started to go wrong all of a sudden for no reason !

The brakes squeak after coming to a stand & then pulling away then I lost the led light on the speedometer needle so took it to the local skoda dealer, was the told no fault with the brakes & it's £700 for a new dashboard console as its a sealed unit !!

So after that bad news the car is now driving terrible any accelaration over 2500rpm it chugged badly & the engine safe mode light staying on !

I've booked it in for inspecation Monday but I'm gutted as I'm expecting bad news, has anybody else had such experience with their yeti ???

Thanks

The Cartronix prices are for repairing units sent to them. It does say 'Removal and Fitting Service available' so I wonder what they charge for that.

Obviously not relevant to the squealing brakes but before you start taking the car apart, with a four year old car would it be worth getting the battery checked before you go any further? I know it's very unlikely to be the problem but it's a cheap (often free) check, quick and non-destructive. So often strange problems on this forum seem to come down to a battery that's on its last legs.
