hot water through a karcher pressure washer

Featured Replies

As anybody had hot going through the there pressure washer. I know that pump gets hot but I was going to a hot water tap fitted to the outside of our new house when we move so I don't go into the kitchen at all.

Any advice would help

I've got a karcher k2

The maximum water feed temperature for the K2 is 40 degrees C. (For my K7 it is 60 degrees.) I suggest you fill a large bucket or other suitable large container with mix of hot and cold water at the right temperature and use a short length of hose for the K2 to suck that water up.

If the water is too hot might it degrade the protection quicker?

I would have thought that the potential problem would be overheating the pump, as the water passing through it will be used to cool it.

As has been said

The safe working temperature is 40C

Why not take a feed from a bucket if access to cold water is an issue

+1 on this - probably not the best idea on this model.

The expansion/contraction using hot and cold may stress this and cause premature failure - IMO.

Remember hot water will activate any salt on the car during the winter months. I was told wash the car down with cold water during winter time. Don't a lot of karchers use the water for cooling the pump.

Ant, who do you know in the RAF? One of my mates showed me your car a little while ago but I cannot remember who showed me.

The K4s upwards have the water cooled motors I believe.

Yes K4s are water cooled, just get a outside cold tap fitted, not expensive
