Recently had these fitted but girlfriend didn't like them when trying to close the boot. Also got told I'm wasting money. So time to start stripping and selling will get pictures tomorrow but it's the green springs with 8 washers I think and no heat shrink.

Wouldn't say you're stealing his sale, you've offered a very fair price + imo taken into account the missing heat shrink so priced it accordingly [emoji106]

They only pop the initial bit the struts take over then. But your right haven't seen them on a Octavia yet.

They fitted absolutely fine, they just didn't have enough force to fully open the boot. I even bought stronger springs but still no joy. I doubled up the springs to see if that would work but i couldn't even shut the boot.

Normally if they pop the boot and the boot doesn't open its because the struts aren't full strength. Mine works fine but it's only 2 years old so I'd imagine a mk1 VRs struts have less strength than mine. But then again if your boot works fine can't exactly expect you or any other mk1 owner to buy new struts and springs to try.

I fitted new struts when i tried the springs on mine as the originals were still on there and i couldn't get the end off to fit the springs on.
