I have a skoda fabia greenline estate and I need help in using the MDI connector. I have a android phone and I want to connect my phone using bluetooth to the MDI and control my phone using car audio controls. I want to know whether it is possible.

Pretty sure you have to add a bluetooth module to the headunit, as an extra

No it is not possible - you're better off getting a USB memory stick and putting your music on that. I'm assuming that you have the standard Swing stereo, If you want Bluetooth music streaming -then you're best off getting yourself a Parrot kit or similar that has this functionality or changing the stereo.

I bought the below bluetooth from amazon and it works great for music but not for phone calls.

In Fabia, MDI socket is under the glove box and the bluetooth kit (with mic) is under the glove box. So when call comes it is difficult to speak.

I'm very tempted by this as all I want to do is stream music to the car. I already have a Bluetooth fm transmitter but the quality is very average.

What puts me off is the reviews, the only positive ones are from people given the device in exchange for a review!

I would like to make use of the MDI for Bluetooth rather than spend a lot on changing the head unit. Are there any other options out there? Other than the £70 jobbie already posted of course.

I've choosen a more expensive one (£135), as I did not have MDI nor Bluetooth fitted (on Swing), and wanted both. I bought a Dension (Gateway Pro BT) device that works as MDI (usb)+Bluethooth module (stream + phone).

It all works with the original controls + steering controls.

The more expensive the options get the more appealing changing the head unit is. Ideally I would like to make use of MDI though.
