washer bottle capacity?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

Just purchased some quantum screen wash today as my car needs some :)

And was wondering what capacity the washer bottle holds in Litres? My car has xenon's with the washer headlamps, I have heard that the washer bottle holds 5.5 litres?

Also a little confused on the mix ratio  :| as for winter use it says 1:5 to which I'm assuming its 500ml of total screen wash to use for a 5.5 litre washer bottle capacity? or am I completely wrong :D

Cheers

Unless I'm wrong, I often am, it would be 1l of screenwash to every 5l of water? So I would say about 850mls of SW and top up with water to 5.5l, assuming it holds 5.5l

You're completely wrong. 500ml to 5.5 litre is 1:11 and is a summer mix

It's 4.7 litres for cars with headlight washers.

Why don't you just tip a load of screen wash in then top up with water. It will be fine.

I used the VAG -70 concentrate only really because its affordable, works well and smells pretty good.

Once on the warning I always put 0.5l of concentrate in then top off with tap water. Never given me any issues.

My Octavia just went in for a service and they'd put 500ml screenwash in and left the remainder in the bottle in the car so guess its what alot of dealers do also.

I dont know 100% but thought the headlamp washer equipped cars had 5l tank and those without 3 or 3.5l?

The manual says 3litres without headlamp washers and "around 4.7litres"

Around? Haha. Must have lots of variably sized old bottles lying about the place

That's what I don't want to do, don't get me wrong, I have done this is the past with previous vehicles but seeing as the colder weather is setting in! I would rather get the correct ratio/strength & mix with water in a spare 5L bottle & then add it to the washer bottle
