Can anyone help airbag light has come on am thinking of disconnecting the negative lead on battery to so if it will reset its self don't no if this will work any suggestions please

Best get it scanned to fibd out why.

You havnt had thr glovebox out have you?

No turned key to number 2 message came on with light this morning car the car haddent even been started so don't no why

once illuminated the airbag light will not go out on it's own, you need to get it cleared with VCDS or similar.

 

If there is an ongoing fault, you can't clear the light.  Certain airbag faults cannot be cleared as trying to will lead to the effected airbag deploying.

Most probably breakdown in connection under drivers seat. Inspect and clean and reconnect and clear code and see if it stays away

If the error code when read is g179 try looking at the wiring as it goes though to the door, I've have the cabling replaced there. Twice....
