Alarm Question?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

First thing first, Hope everyone had a great Christmas & Santa  brought you loads of goodies for the car  :D

Now over the past few days, I have been wondering if the skoda factory alarm can have total closure de-activated via the key-fob & activate a panic mode via VCDS? If this is possible, as I don't use the total closure via the key-fob so for me its a pointless feature but was wondering if it could be changed or programmed via VCDS to make it a Panic alarm button on maybe holding the unlock button down for a few seconds ;) as I have seen a few people parking to close to my vehicle & I would like to pre-warn them via a panic feature!

I very much doubt it, but thought to ask as I'm sure the VCDS Gods will know

Thanks

Europe cars in general don't have panic button on car key like in USA. When someone suspicious is approaching my car or I see person trying to lean on my car i click lock and the person sees all 4 blinkers (hazards) ON and steps away from the car. But yes there is option to turn ON US feature via VCDS it adds horn sound for locking.

Only problem with this feature is people in europe are not familiar with it and every time you lock your car it will sound a horn. And in some countries it is prohibited to use horn except to warn someone on road. Especially near hospitals or elder homes. Same reason why this feature is not option in EU cars.

Hey Croat, Cheers for the reply  Yes thats what I normally do as regards pressing the lock button so the hazards flash but really want more of an attention alert with sound, but I get what your saying as regards Europe cars etc...I dont see how thou the panic feature will sound the horn as I have a siren in my Skoda for the alarm? Just thought that in the UK it would be a handy feature even if you see something was about to happen before it happens then this could actually prevent that something from happening   :D  but looks like its a feature that can't be enabled? in the UK?
