van insurance?

Featured Replies

Morning people

Firstly hope everyone ate, drank and a great x mas

I've got a VW caddy and its becoming apart its a specialist insurance group

Is there any way to re categorise it to a "car" as its only for commuting and weekend mountain biking / dog walking

Thanks

Dan

Plenty insurers will recognise it is for Private & Leisure Use,

and Not Business or Gain and Reward.  Providing Insurance cover as such. (No tools carried, just personal leisure equipment.)

Has it no Rear Seats,

so not Dual Purpose, and so still a Light Commercial. (Van.)?

What about Speed Limits, is it considered as Car Derived, or is it Restriced with some NSL's.?  ie It is a Van.

Check the V5 and see if your Caddy is 'car derived' for Speed Limits.

My caddy is insured with direct line no problem. It's sdp use no commercial and was only about 40£ more than the fabia estate it replaced.

Car derived van so normal car speed limits apply etc
