Fallout 4 with big spoilers discussion

Featured Replies

I thought it'd be good to have a thread where we could discuss fallout 4 including spoilers about the plot.

So if you've not already done some major bits in the game you might want to stop reading now.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but there might be some interesting lessons in the game.

I ended up doing the railroad version.

* they have cool music

* I love some of their dialogue - Cain and Tinker Tom especially. "We're spinning!"

* their ballistic weave mod is amazing

but they're mostly about saving synths, not the commonwealth as a whole

And they want the BOS and the Institute to be destroyed. Really? Is there no way to work together in the longer term? Wiping them all out just because they're BOS is just as blanket irrational as hating all synths because they're synths.

(And why does the Prydwen need to be destroyed? The only way I could plant the charges was by killing everyone on board. From deck scribes to Maxson. So Tinker Tom could have walked in and started piloting it for the railroad)

Whereas apparently it's possible to do the minutemen and destroy just the institute, at least leaving the BOS around

* But wow the minutemen quests are a bit dull... I used to dread seeing Preston as every time I turned in a quest I'd get at least one more

So... the cool, fun group are a bit aggressive and not so concerned about a lot of people

The dull, lots-of-work group are more concerned about most people. (Though maybe they hate synths - I can't remember)

Finally, there are some interesting digs in the dialog from the BOS mega robot (Sentinel Prime?)

"Freedom is the birthright of all Americans"

"Democracy is non-negotiable"

"Only by working together can we defeat communism"
