Safe to drive with fault code P261B

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I'm new to this site.

Anyway I own a skoda octavia II 2009 reg. The other day on my way to work the engine light came on. I plugged in my OBD2 reader and got the following code showing up P261B. I cleared the code but on the journey home the engine light illuminated again! Ive read online that it could be the electric coolant pump or an injector..

Pretty much broke after xmas and paid monthly so I'm wondering is it ok to drive short journeys to work and back (5miles) in total a day until the end of this month? Or is it more serious?

Only had the car a few months and is still under its warranty, only problem is that the garage i bought it from is on the other side of the country!

63000 miles on the clock, oh and its a 1.6 tdi cr engine.

Appreciate any responses guys  :notme:

Tom.

secondary coolant pump failure. you should be fine to drive it with the light on as the main mechanical pump will still be working.

don't be surprised if stop start doesn't work (if fitted).
