Octavia II 2008 alarm chirps

Featured Replies

I have tried to activate my alarm chirps, and i cant seem to find it...only horn options.

Could anyone shed any light on this please.i do not want a horn as i get back late some nights.

Thanks

It's either an adaption channel option in 46/09 (probably 46 in a 2008 car) or 2 separate tick boxes in long coding helper.

look for "audible feedback upon locking/unlocking".

On mine I activated them using the carista app

As an aside,It was then I found out the alarm batteries had gone as they only last a certain time.

I got a replacement alarm off a breaking later model and revision alarm, and replaced the lot for £20

You can just get new batteries but didn't fancy breaking it open and resealing it

Ill have another look.pretty sure it said nothing like that but i could be totally wrong.

My car has a siren rather than a horn alarm i checked it worked when i got the car...vag cars seem to have a history with the batteries and rear wipers.thats gone too.ha

Ill see if i can get some pictures up.

I tried to test out a change in bit5 and got this message, seen as i wasnt sure i left it well alone and reverted back to the controller.....i only took picture of anything mentioning Locking or unlocking...there was no mention of any "audible". CH/LH was locked too?

top picture, byte 10 tick bit 1 and 3 then apply the coding. that message is normal, just let vcds enter it's own default values then exit the control module and try it.

save the long coding before you alter it so it can be reverted back to I'd need be.

Bite 10

Select 1 and 3

go back

click DO IT

And then YES on the message board.

yes. If the alarm horn was faulty it'd show as a fault code.
