Correct oil spec for mk2 fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Right been on halford site and there telling me to use 0w 40?

Been to fleet wheel and there telling me 5w 40

I have been using 5w 30 which I assume is correct as the bottle came with the car but when speaking to fleet wheel there are different specs of 5w30?

Any light on this subject would be great

Cheers Jordan

First things first never listen to halfords, they know nothing. Check your book and see what it says then you can't go wrong.

For a 1.4 TSI 132-136 kW Twincharger 2010-2014,

the recommended oil & correct for Variable Servicing is 5w 30 Full Synthetic Long Life VW504 00.

(CTHE 2012-2014)

If you are on Fixed Servicing and you want to use it, 5w 40 Full Synthetic VW502 00 is perfect.

(Changing Oil and filter every 10,000 miles or less.)

0w 40 Full Synthetic is not the Correct Spec.

Well the spec might be OK, but the Oil is not really what is recommended for the engine.

Ok cheers thank you

Is this a car you recently got?

Has it got a service history, and is this you going to service it yourself, or are you topping up?

If buying oil to top up,

what does the invoice show as the oil put in at the last service?

I have had it since July but still learning loads about the mk2 vrs and just looking to top up but service is due in the next 1000miles

Hi there !

Continuing with oil topic, I've discovered that YACCO Galaxy 5W-50 is VW 502.00 approved (http://en.yacco.com/product/236-galaxy-gt-5w50/)

First time I find 50 grade oil with VW 502 ... Has somebody some feedback concerning this oil ? And possible reduction of oil consumption with it ?

Cheers !
