I'm freezing... (calibration/basic settings of climatronic unit)

Featured Replies

With temperatures approaching -20 c here in Norway, I've noticed an issue with the climatronic unit in my 2007 MK2 Octavia. If I have have it on auto, there is no air coming through the center vents, only the two on the sides. My left hand is quite warm, but the rest of me is freezing. I can have it on manual and select air forward and down, which will let air through the center vents.

I did not have this issue last winter (altough it was a bit warmer then).

I have tried calibrating the flaps, by holding in the two buttons on the panel (I believe it was econ and forward air). This does not help me.

I did see post here a while ago where you could do basic settings in VCDS to reset the unit. I can not find that post now, so I'm asking if someone could describe it to me (or find the thread where this was discussed)?

VCDS will instruct you how to do it but it's 08 for HVAC, 04 basic settings and then channel 01 and let the cycle run.
