Engine note change when clutch pedal pressed

Featured Replies

Hi all I've noticed for the past few weeks usually more noticeable on cold mornings that when the clutch pedal os pressed the engine noise changes almost sounds more throatier is this usual

Well then fine is under load when the clutch is engaged and runs freely when the pedal is pressed so it's bound to change tone.

Not a big surprise in differing noise levels with clutch up or down. Cold weather may exacerbate this. As long as the clutch is not slipping when you drive. (Get to about 35 in third, slip in to 4th, rev hard to accelerate, car should pull a reasonable amount, not just rev wildly). Slipping clutch from a main dealer =£600... Thank you sir!
