Clutch upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a 1.9tdi fabia vrs running 215bhp 310ft/lbs

My tuner told me my car is capable of 230-240bhp and 350-380ft/lbs with my build but it was held back due to the standard clutch.

I am struggling to find which upgrade to go for, the car is used as a daily and I do between 20-25K annual mileage. Looking around I am stuck between going SMF or DMF and between;

The Xman stage 2 clutch and DMF rated to 400ft/lbs

Sachs race smf clutch kit.

There is a massive price difference between the two but I need to know between them which would have a better lifespan. The car is driven smoothly and mostly moterway followed by 20mins of 1/2nd city driving a day.

with a bit of spirited driving on the odd weekend but never anything like track driving.

Thanks

For mainly road use i would go for the stage 2 clutch with the dmf. For town driving the sachs clutch will be pretty sharp.
