2007 octavia vrs pd tdi glow plug problem

Featured Replies

Hi guys wondering if anyone could help I have an engine management light on so i put a code reader on it and its come up with number 2 glow plug light fault code and number 3 fault code pending or so my code reader says so I guess i will need to change these two  at least but is it worth changing all four and is it worth genuine ones or any decent after market ones and has anyone replaced them and any problems changing them only heard horror stories about getting them out shearing them etc. My car has just shy of 100k on the clock thanks for any replies in advance

Am I right in thinking the 2.0 tdi 140 Bhp is the same engine as the vrs ?

If so I have just changed all four of mine they are at the top of the engine under the rocker box, little fiddley but easy to do I was told that two of the plugs where not working as well as the othere two but i would be aswell changing all four of them I was advised to use boch or beru and I ended up getting beru at just under £10 each the job it's self was very easy and I had no problems getting the old plugs out just make shore you withdrew them at the same angle as they are put in I.e strait don't put any pressure to the sides bending the plug as you take it out.hope you can understand the way I explained it,hope this helps kev.

If possible, working on a hot engine can help with potentially seized glow plugs.

Allow the engine to cool completely before fitting new items, torque as per specs.

Sorry forgot to mention that get the engine up to running temp before starting the job, good luck with it am shore it will go ok atb kev.

Thank you both for the replies I will warm it up prior to starting the job, I thought best to ask as never had to do these before and you hear horror stories about them shearing on diesels in general.
