Time to change..

Featured Replies

Having owned my Octavia (MK1) for about 2 months now I have decided that the factory fit Hi-Fi is just plain awful.

So now I need some help.... I plan to upgrade all components in the form of

*A new head unit

*New front and rear speakers

*A all in one sub - that must be compact and easily removed

Having contacted pioneer, I have found some suitable speakers to fit in both the front and rear (and a possible sub as well)

However, my problem is that I really wanted to be able to continue using the boot changer... Pioneer tell me that none of their units will work with the Skoda boot changer. Does any manufacterer support the boot changer or do I accept that it will be redundant.

Yours hopefully

do I accept that it will be redundant.

Yes....although if you're good with wiring you may be able to sort it out...oh....it's a Panasonic autochanger...IIRC.

My autochanger is unused in it's original location since I changed the HU. Was planning to install a 1G micro drive, then perhaps an iPod...can't be ar$ed...will probably just get a larger capacity MMC instead.

Back to single CD fun it is then...

I think the Sony headunits will work with the Skoda changer.

i can check in my book when I get home :)

IIRC you used to be able to get a cable for connecting standard Golf changers to various manufacturers head units. Cost about Β£10 IIRC, saw them in Halfords.

Thanks for the help guys. Will decide whether to go for the single disc unit or make use of the changer.

I have still got a MINT condition blaupunkt MP72 LA for sale as well :-)

Same unit SkodiRS is using if I am not mistaken, a snip at
