Featured Replies

Hi im a new member have had my vrs blackline for 3years now and want to fit stunning box or maybe a remap.

Has anyone used the DTUK box and what do you think of it driving wise and power ?

cheers MattG

Hi Matt

Welcome to the site, there is plenty of remap versus tuning box threads around the site, just do a search for DTUK in the top right and they'll pop up.

On a personal level and to answer the question here for you I've run a DTUK box on my CR140 Ibiza for the last 18 months and it's a mixed experience.

It's a spiky thing when turned all the way up (well i say all the way but ALL the way up stuck it into limp mode) but it is fun when wound back a bit as it does give a hefty lift in performance.

However i'm pretty sure it drinks a fair bit more fuel with the box on than it should and i'd have inconsistent problems from white smoke out the exhaust, to high tickover even when warm, to surging during steady throttle openings/cruise control.

Potentially though that's because i may be running a CR170 box on a CR140 but i'm not convinvec that's the reason.

Compared to the Jabbasport remap I had on my previous Fabia VRS it feels much less consistent and an inferior product.

However it's not all critical I does prove serious value for money if you can find a secondhand box for around £200-250 (as i did)

It certainly does a good job of improving performance and warrants bang for buck.

The fact it's a removable item you could take off and sell on should (or take off and reprogramme for your next vehicle) if you sell up only addds to the value for money.

That said if it ws the choice between a new DTUK box at £360 or a £499 shark remap I'd probably go remap

This is my experience also, on a CR170 (Yeti) it drank the fuel whilst sat at a constant 70 MPH on CC, removed the box for the return trip (over 200 miles) and instantly the economy returned.

I then did what i wanted to do initially ... got it remapped by Shark, lovely smooth power and slightly BETTER fuel economy as well.
