remap on a 2.0l automatic?

Featured Replies

Been considering a remap on my sluggish 2.0l automatic.

Pretty unresponsive throttle. Not much torque until you get above 4000rpm but as its auto it tends to stay below 3000 until you go flat out with kickdown or manually out it down into 3rd or 2nd.

DK Tuning remaps say they can work it to 135 BHP and 205 Nm torque.  (250 quid a bit pricey too)

Has anyone had a remap on an auto?

Any advice would be appreciated.

If it's the non-turbo 2.0 then it's pointless!

How much power is it rated at as standard?

I doubt you would actually see a big difference without any hardware mods.

no turbo

115 BHP/175Nm Torque as stock I believe

I'd be VERY surprised if they could get another 20bhp and 30nm of torque from a late 90s design naturally aspirated 2.0 engine with nothing but a remap..

I personally wouldn't bother for such a small claimed gain in power.

Either accept it for what it is or change it for a more powerful car (1.8t maybe?)

Be lucky to get 5bhp.

Just keep the £250 in your back pocket

Yes I believe you're right. So many of these remap 'specialists' are popping up to make a quick buck (0r 250 quid in this case) I'd rather save my money and invest in some new wheels and SS exhaust system.
