Source for new 16" genuine Octavia Mk.3 Alloys?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of changing the 17" wheels on my Octavia Mk.3 for 16". I know it's unusual to downsize wheels but as I have a replacement hip I could do with a bit more comfort on the local pot hole infested roads. I would prefer genuine Skoda wheels but dealer prices are crazy. Superskoda (Czech Republic) have sets of 16" Velorum wheels at a much cheaper price but I'm very dubious about spending so much money buying from them. An alternative would be used wheels but they would have to be the correct size (6.5j x 16 x ET46 - PCD 112) and in excellent condition. BTW I will keep the 17" wheels for when the car is sold.

I'd be very grateful for comments.

You can buy decent quality suitable non-Skoda wheels for around £100 each; or maybe even less. I paid £95 (incl. delivery) per wheel for 16x6.5 8-spoke alloy wheels a couple of years ago. There is a huge choice out there.

OK not quite what you wanted but they are cheap and I think look fine.

I was going to get a set to fit my winter tyres which are currently on alloys suitable for a Mk1 Octy

I don't know why more manufacturers don't sell decent silver coated steel wheels?
