Bump stops

Featured Replies

Hi there, I'm changing my shock absorbers for something better and more suited to my springs. The old bump stops are ruined so I need new ones, I'm looking at the powerflex poly ones but they're universal not specific. After doing some digging I've found that some people use the Ibiza FR bump stops instead, just wondering which would fit better and do the job better in terms of experiences you've had. Feedback for the front and rear would be great.

Thanks

Front or rear?

I've got one maybe two spare ibiza bump stops if you want them? Dunno what price you can find them for but i'm happy to sell them for a bit cheaper

I recently refit a set of essentially standard febi bump stops to the rear of my car - very worthwhile. I had understood that there were other types that e.g. were reduced in length to allow for a lowered car. Surprising how much of the "springing" is actually a function of the bump stops.

They are called spring assisters in the workshop manual.

I've ordered some powerflex poly ones that should hopefully slide on, if not I'll try yours, what I failed to mention however is that they are not standard shock absorbers and the diameter of the piston rod is 5mm wider than standard, dunno if that makes a huge difference.
