PSP Wireless error 80110482

Featured Replies

Aaaaghhh, i'm pulling my hair out here trying to get my shiny new psp to connect to my wireless network. Get error 80110482.

Setup, linksys WRT54G with WPA encryption, visible SSID

PSP v 2

PSP sees the network but can't connect. I've tried disabling MAC address filtering too to no avail. Any other ideas or pointers to get it to work?

Bri

As a test try disabling the WPA and try again, Mac filtering must be off untill the linksys has the mac address, then you just add that to the list of allowed addresses.

Ok finally got it to work...this is what I tried

Tried WEP - No effect

Tried No security at all - No effect

Tried manually using ip settings - No effect

Updated the firmware to version 2.60 - Different error now, 80410D06

More hair pulling....and googling....nothing

Then the penny drops...Need to set wireless router to Mixed mode as opposed to Wireless G only, et voila, works a charm.

How stupid do I feel.

oh you fixed it before I got to tell you why. cheap *** sony not putting a wireless g connection on it.

Hmm that's handy  - not all routers are dual standard so that's gonna P some people off :(

Interestingly there is absolutely nothing in the literature or manual that I could find outlining this....

I couldnt find any info in my manual either, but they may have been that it was in japanese.

It's definitely something that sony have not told people about and it's almost like they didnt want anyone to know. I was so suprised when I found out why it wouldnt work. I expected it to be wireless g atleast. Still I expected my ps2 dvd rom drive to last longer then my ps1's cd drive. Silly me thinking they woud have learnt from past experiences. I wonder how long the bluray drive will last in the ps3
