Access from cabin to battery (Radio install)

Featured Replies

Currently trying to install a two way radio in my Skoda Fabia Mk1.

Struggling to find any suitable access through the firewall for the power cable as it needs to be connected directly to the battery.

From the outside I can see a suitable sized hole on the passenger side of the scuttle panel, however cannot find this inside even once the glovebox is removed.

Any help would be appreciated.

There's a rubber grommet behind the carpet in the passenger footwell, pull the carpet back and you should see it. When I had my mk1 i drilled a hole through that for my amp wire, I sealed it with a sealant just to be sure it would let water in.

Found it, best to access from scuttle panel, and then use a coat hanger to pull the cable through.

Excellent guide here if anyone is fitting any other equipment that requires battery connection - http://www.theiansons.co.uk/skodaamp/FurbyPower.htm

Thank you everyone,
