Identifying insurer

Featured Replies

I'm trying to sort out the estate of my late wife I've managed to do most things other than her car insurance.

The only records I've found came from ESure and they confirmed the car isn't insured with them.

The bank gave me a reference number (for a payment I assume) and a phone number which went to Sheila's Wheels, which is also a Bank of Scotland company. Again they said the car isn't with them and they couldn't check for me who it is with.

I've checked AskMID and the car appears as insured.

I can get the insurer through askMID but I'd have to misrepresent myself as a claimant and declare an incident and I've not sure if that is legal.

Does anyone know of any other way to identify the insurer?
