interior scratch > Heat Gun

Not to sure if this is common knowledge, but after watching

I had a go on my glove box, it needed replacing so i thought sod lets have a try, i wished i had taken a before and after ... i didn't think it would be very successful, but it was :)

 - What i did different from the video was use a degreaser first, then i used a magic sponge from Asda 2 for £1.50 http://groceries.asda.com/product/multi-purpose/asda-super-stain-remover-wonder-erasers/910001078748

That acts as a soft abrasive, but only do this on scratches!!

It strips the top coat, so makes the finish whitish, then use the heat gun and it brings it back.

Then i used some of this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/301860214508?adgroupid=13936810266&hlpht=true&hlpv=2&rlsatarget=pla-144478438146&adtype=pla&ff3=1&lpid=122&poi=&ul_noapp=true&limghlpsr=true&ff19=0&googleloc=1006633&device=c&chn=ps&campaignid=220881786&crdt=0&ff12=67&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff14=122&viphx=1&ops=true&ff13=80

So all in if you have a heat gun, and some microfibre cloths. 1 hrs labour and a £10, you will even have change for a pint to celebrate a cheap job well done :p

excellent, glad it hs worked for you!  I have read (on here i think) that the hear gun blackening is vey short lived in some cases, but the armourall should do the job if the plastic does fade again

Hmm not sure how it will hold up, my trim is grey (Fabia VRS) so fingers crossed grey to stay :P

I have one negative, today when the sun was out, looking at a area that i heated(glove box) from the drives side, you can see different shades. But when in the passenger seat it looks fine.

Do you think this would work on the soft vinyl dash?
