Aftermarket Black Pack

Featured Replies

Hi, I ordered my VRS in mid Jan and I have a build date of week 9. I believe thats too close now to change ny order?

The dealer is going to enquire, but in case they cant make alterations I've told them I want thge black pack fitted to my white octavia during thge pdi. He has given me the opportunity to supply the parts myself to save on dealer prices, which is nice!

Anyway, the grille surround is on superskoda and it looks like its also on skodadop, with the latter being a 3rd of the price, mirror covers are a similar story.

Does anyone have any experience of this? Are the parts from skodadop genuine? Will I have any problems getting them to the UK?

Any hgelp grategully received!

All the besdt

I've ordered from Skodadop before. I purchased a three spoke Superb steering wheel + airbag. The part was 100% genuine, in perfect condition and well packaged. Also had no issues with the delivery.

Are these the mirror covers you are looking at? http://skodadop.com/en/octavia-iii-/eksterer-octavia-iii/skoda-octavia-iii-nakladka-zerkala-chernaya-original-5e0072530b.html

If so, they look genuine to me.

I've also ordered from here in the past: http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/skoda/oem-5e0072530b-octavia-3-sport-external/

Ordered a reversing camera kit with no problems.

Also used these folks as well: http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/product/Wing_Mirror_Caps_(BLACK)_(OCT_III)_5E0072530B

Purchased a set of Anthracite Trinity alloys. No problems.

I've also used Superskoda on loads of occasions. No problems!

If possible, stick with genuine Skoda parts as they will be guaranteed to fit perfectly. Sometimes, the aftermarket stuff needs a little 'fettling' to fit properly.

I don't know what the prices are like on skodadop however the superskoda grill price was the same as buying it from the dealer where it was only £43. The dealer prices are not always as high as you think so its worth checking

How easy are the mirror covers to fit??

I have just bought an under seat storage box (and fixings), and that too was cheaper from the main dealer than Superskoda by £5.

Ah.....our vRS came with the black optics pack. The link to the mirror covers was simply an example, as I've bought other items from there in the past.

Most mirror covers these days require the glass to be removed and a securing screw to be removed. I've not tinkered with the Mk3 mirrors TBH so it's best to seek the sage advice of someone who's done the deed.

Also, as above, once you've factored in the shipping costs from the continent, your dealer might be more competitive. Also....haggle! I got a good price for my alloys when I emailed the parts chap at Rainworth (aka Skodaparts.com).

Wow thanks for the responses guys! Im speaking with the stealers tomorrow and we had already assumed the parts would be a rip off from Skoda but we'll try thge parts man instead now!

Fitting the mirror caps looks easy enough. Thgeres a video knocking about for changing the puddle lights on the mirrors that shows the disassembly process. However, someone had said thgat if they pointed the mirror all the way in the could see thge two prongs of the mirror cap without removing the glass. I dont have a vrs yet so I cant chgeck that, perhaps one of the current owners would be so kind? They should be two vertical pieces of plastic coming through from the back on the left hand side ;)

Cheers guys

All the best
