Stocking Up On Detailing Products

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just would like some opinions on this please. Car is an 8 month old Octy vRS and since recently waxing it, the dirt generally falls off when I give it a 2BM wash. I then dry and top of with Sonax detailing spray. So thinking ahead a few month when the council decide to resurface every road and the flies come out to pepper the bonnet! As I have a few old products that are running down I am thinking of replacing with :-

Chemical Guys Strong Wash for when I need to remove tar / bugs.

Sonax xtreme Glass cleaner.

Also, except hoovering I have never really given the inside too much attention. So to keep the dash etc. clean, I have recently got some Autoglym interior - does this work ok as a general all purpose inside cleaner?

Thanks for any input.

To be honest I'm not a huge fan of AutoGlym.

For removing tar you will want a dedicated tar remover. AutoFinesse ObliTARate is a fantastic tar remover.

Gtechniq I2 is a great all surface interior cleaner and I2AB  has the added benefit of I2 with an antibacterial guard cleaner and guard.

For interior plastics there is Gtechniq C6 which is a UV protectant for plastic surfaces and leaves a non glossy, non greasy factory fresh lustre. Each application lasts around six months (there is also C6AB which is C6 with antibacterial guard).

CleanYourCar have a discount code this weekend for Valentines Day of 10%. Code is 'VALENTINE10'.

Have look on the EZ car care thread - some great packs and kits in the sale right now.

Otherwise i would look at the Autobrite Direct range as a good option too...

Bug Remover - Gtechniq do a brilliant one.

Glass Cleaner - AF Crystal

Inside - AF Spritz and AF Total.

Im not a million miles away so if you wanted to try something then just let me know. Apologies I'm a bit late with my reply. You've had some good advice above.

AG tar remover is what I use and it's very effective, despite what others say. I also use their vinyl and rubber care which is also good.
