2014 Amundsen/Canton

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just put my car in for a service and have been given a 2014 Fabia as a courtesy car. Couple of thing that have surprised me.

The Fabia stereo can read the text messages on my phone and display them. My 2014 Octavia doesn't seem to have this feature. Any reason why? Is it a firmware issue?

I have the canton upgrade in my car. Sounds very good on bluetooth audio from my phone using spotify but the sound from the DAB radio has always been a bit poor and quite quiet.

The Fabia courtesy car also has a DAB but no canton. The DAB radio sound far better than mine and much clearer. Volume goes higher as well. Is this an issue with the amp?

Any help would be gratefully received

The Fabia speakers are not as good as the Canton setup, so poor quality audio such as DAB will sound better.

Do a bit of googling, DAB in the UK is mostly 64kbps or 128kbps joint stereo, very poor quality, lower than FM.

Using VCDS you can change the gain values on different audio sources (CD, radio, etc.) I set my radio louder as it was quiet compared to CD/SD.
