Exhaust cooler blanking in BXE engine

Featured Replies

Hi All! I've tried the search box but now luck. I've got a question about exhaust cooler in Octavia mk2 with BXE engine. I've got egr valve disabled for some time now ( vacuum pipe taken off only, no blank plate). Apart from check engine light on, it runs much better then with egr connected. I've spotted there is a quite loud exhaust noise (especially when accelerating). I think it might be one of the egr pipes or a exhaust cooler problem. I thought it could be a good idea to blank off the cooler completely, I mean prevent exhaust gasses coming in. Can I blank it on the entrance from the exhaust manifold?  Is it hard to remove the cooler from the car to examine it?  Can I reach it from under the bonnet or do I need to go under the car? Your experience in this matter will be much appreciated. Thank you.

BXE engine needs no hardware modification for the egr, only programming out the closed valve.

No further plate etc. necessary.
