Mk1 Oct TDI. 110hp ASV dead, will 90hp fit?

Featured Replies

My mate's got a mk1 52-plate octavia 110hp ASV engine that a cowboy mechanic has kindly killed (think they were buggering about with the turbo with the engine running, had a "It came off in my hand" moment which ended up with it running away and burning all its sump oil). My brother's for an engine out of an 04 plate 1.9TDI, but it's a 90hp ALH - any reason it shouldn't work?

You will have to swap over ecu, dash clocks and keys I believe.

That's not the end of the world. No need to change the loom though?

Thanks for that. Guessing we can't just use his pump on the new engine to get round the immob, and that if we wanted to leave his locks in, VCDS would be able to add the key?

That I don't know sorry. Probably would work though, in theory as thats what is immobilised. Keys can be coded but not as easy with immobiliser.
