DNX521DAB - Kenwood

Featured Replies

I have this head unit fitted in the car, does anyone know how to activate the AUX port next to the handbreak so I am able to play music through the radio?

The aux input only works with factory headunits and not compatible with the Kenwood unit.

edit.

Looking at the back of the headunit, you need a simple 3.5mm to phono (red/white) lead which you can feed through the dash somewhere.

Like this lead.

Ok thanks, will ask Skoda next week to get this sorted.

If I had the amauden unit or Columbus, I take it that it would work?

I have had the unit installed and lost functionality such as steering wheel control buttons, aux, cable passenger side under glove box. Would it work if I had the other one of the two? Is kenwood a better unit?

Kenwood is better, but you do lose some functionality. IIRC aux will work fine with Amundsen or Columbus.

Can you get to the back of the aux jack by removing some trim? Then swap out the existing female socket and replace it with a new female socket connected up to a red/white phone lead like this one... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00QUWDUMW?sn=email&vs=1&vs=1

Then run the red/white jacks to the rear of the kenwood unit.

Just taking Mannyo suggestion a step further as it may look more OEM with the socket rather than a trailing wire, unless you wanted the lead in the glove box of course.
