Timing belt change on a vrs?

Featured Replies

Hi, appolise for a repeat question as I have also asked another but upon listening to my car and some videos it seems my 60 plate vrs has a loose timing chain, it's rattling badly at idle and it gets less noise if it's moving/acceleration is on, I want to know if this can be fixed before the engine blows up? The car seems to be running fine with no errors on dash or weird mishaps. It's just cost me 4k to have a brand new gearbox fitted, literally a week ago so I'm now starting too loose the will to live with it. Any help would be appreciated

don't know if this will help, but the tensioner is powered by oil pressure, so it will rattle a little on tickover compaired to when driving, If you are worried i would suggest a new tensioner? probably wont be that expensive...
