does anyone no how to check if the oil pressure switch is at fault or the oil temperature sensor if oil light is coming on far to early.

a mean when oil drops down under the full level on dip stick.

just the amber light not the red light on dashboard.

If its saying the oil level is low, check the dipstick. If there is a good reading on the dipstick then its wrong, if the oil level is low on the dipstick or no reading at all, its correct

 

Its easier to measure the cars oil pressure and determine whether that is good than it is to get the oil pressure switch checked unless you have access to some calibration equipment

When the amber light comes on on dashboard the oil is half way down the checkerd part on dip stick.

Your whole engine has only 4L oil, so it is not very clever driving around with 2L only.

Half way down the dipstick wouldn't be 2L though. There is 1L between the top and bottom of the dipstick do at minimum you have 3L still in the sump.
