Hi all,

 

Noticed yesterday that when accelerating from about half throttle onwards (2000-2500+ rpm) i get some slight vibration through the accelerator pedal. Its not been there before and doesn't do it all the way to the redline. 

 

I did some digging on here and it seems that it is DMF related, so my initial thoughts are is it's on the way out. (Car has done 69k).

 

Before i start ordering parts to change, is there anything else that it could be or is it something that could last for a while before it fails completely?

It could be a few things, not sure i can help diagnose what els, but id suggest looking more at the DMF to possibly confirm it has failed first.

listen for any noises from the flywheel when the car is on idle, sort of a chatter. When you switch the car off listen to see if the flyhweel clatters when the engine has stopped.

I nipped to my local VAG specialist on the way home from work. They don't think it is DMF. They thought it might be sticky veins but took it for a drive and said it didn't feel like that at all.

Scanned for fault codes and nothing came up.

He just said to keep an eye on it and take it back if it gets worse and they can investigate further.
