Problem with my Fabia mk 1 taking longer to start and cutting out

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

Any help would be much appreciated .

My Fabia mk 1 vrs 2006 started giving trouble about 6 months ago it would take longer to start (cranking over) and would cut out on the motorway. I had it plugged into a laptop and was coming up with cam and crankshaft sensors which i replaced and all was well until a couple of weeks ago when it cut out on me on the motorway, the power would drop like going into limp mode but then would pick back up again. Since this Ive had it plugged in again and the fault came up with camshaft sensor I've replaced the sensor again but its still giving trouble.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem?

Thanks in advance

Which camshaft sensor error code is it showing up? There's a couple of codes I seem to remember, one of which indicates a complete failure to read anything. Could be a problem with the wire to the sensor.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply, its coming up with: camshaft position sensor (g40)  p3007- 35-00- No signal

Best check the wires and the connector as far as you can. You can also buy replacement connectors with a length of wire attached, if you want to wire in a new length.
