New Skoda girl

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

Bought today used Octavia III HB 2014 2.0 TDI DSG in Elegance Plus. It is 43 000 km old and was previously owned by some kind of local Skoda Center director. It has a number of extras like ACC, webasto, driving mode select, beige leather interior, Columbus, Bluetooth with voice controll, front and back parking sensors,  electrically adjusting seats, Canton and 17' Teron wheels.

I'm new to Skoda. Previously got only one car - Audi A4 2002, 1.8T man which had very basic equipment . I loved it, but it was getting tired and rusted. I'm a young doctor and do have a very busy working life with long shifts and too little free time to manage dealing with car repair and service. So it was decided to go for a newer car on warranty. My colleague and friend drives a Suberb II and i liked it. Checked options and pricing and although wasn't very impressed by how octavia looks, decided to give it a try. I wasn't really ready to wait months for car to arrive, 'cause Audi was sold and couldn't manage without a car, so I went for an existing and sightly used one but with better equipment. It's cappuccino beige and i'm not a fan of this color, but it looks just fine.

Had only one 300 km long ride today. Overall impression is good - car is nice to ride.  Automatic transmission is yet to be used to, but it works just fine. ACC is really great and will make my travels between shifts in different cities lot more comfortable. Fuel consumption was about 6.0 per 100 km in town traffic and 4.0 on highway. Parking sensors make life easy, never had a thing like this :D. I'm still to find out how to use Car Play etc.

Car is little bit noisy on highway comparing to Audi and has too little mirror view. Starting from place seemed a bit laggy. But overall it was nice. Think I will love it.

Have only one pic of it, cause my phones battery got low and then it was already dark outside.

Hope it will be fun to ride!

Welcome to the group!!

Hello and welcome to the group! Lovely looking car and I'm sure you'll enjoy your car more when you get use to it. A bit of road noise could be down to the size of tyres you have on your wheels so if your driving a lot then you may want to go up a size.

Thank you guys! :)

I got this car is still on winter tyres, summer ones were provided in plastic bag. I haven't discovered yet what they are.

Think, that maybe if I will have enough money I'd like to have one more rims set for summer in darker color (eg anthracite) to add more contrast and make it look not so Granny-like. :D
