Hi all

The locking cable has snapped in my Octavia I cannot open door anyone any ideas how to get door card off from the inside so I can open the door to replace cable .

I've never had the door cards off mine, nor have I really looked in detail, but I assume there are two bolts on the bottom of the card.  If the door is stuck shut, you may need to remove plastic trim from the cabin to get in.  Just guessing here though.

Thanks planehazza the problem is that the torx screws are on the side of the door but I can't open the door to get at

When you say the cable has broken can explain it a bit better

 

The lock has two attached cables

 

one to the inner door pull trigger

and the other to the outside handle

 

If one breaks you can still use the other

When I pulled the inner door handle the cable snapped so cannot open door. Tried opening from outside but no joy.

strange, maybe you have a wiring fault that has caused the lock to deadlock

 

try manually to unlock the car using the key in the lock, then try it from the outside

 

if that doesn't work

 

You will need to get the door card off

 

There are 3x screws behind the door grab handle

2x at the base of the door card

1x behind the speaker / mirror adjustment dial

 

the plastic poppers will give if you can pull on the door card
