Poor lights

Featured Replies

Just bought a 2010 Superb S 1.9 tdi and find the dipped headlight performance not very good. Is this to be expected ? Anyone suggest a bulb upgrade to brighten the road please. my previous superb had Xenon headlights which were brilliant. I'm not expecting xenon brightness but hope to see an improvement.

They're probably set too low - my xenons were rubbish on dipped beams compared to the incandescent bulbs in the previous car because of this issue. The top edge of the dipped beams should look about level with the top of the headlight. If it's visibly below this then it's been set wrong. Check whether the headlight leveling adjustment by the light switch in the car is set to something other than 0 before going at the adjusters in the back of the light.

I think the projector dip lights on the Superb are Poor in standard trim. A family member runs a Passat and they are as bad. I fitted + 90% bulbs in the dip units and they are now OK. The high beam were fine so I have left them as std.

I use GE + 120% from Halfords only in dipped light as I also find the high beams fine

I adjusted my lights up as they were too low , that's on a brand new car

I've got on high beam Philips H7 xtreme vision +130% they are brightest 55w bulb available and won couple of tests aswell...

Hi i had the same with my car, i tried the phillips +130 bulbs & found them to be not much better than standard plus costs £30 wish - i ended up going with the hid kit route i.e. london colour 4300 35 watt kit non can bus cost me £25.99 from eBay ..the only down side is the mot & insurance issues plus they would need coding in via vcds so you don't get bulb errors however the big plus side you get almost xenon performance if you stick with 4300 as its pure white & make sure you lights are aligned correctly - if its any help look at my previous posts as this well covered.
