Full beam indication staying on

Recommended Posts

Got a bit of a problem with the mk2 VRS (Pre FL)... It's causing my battery to drain slowly so this morning I now have a flat battery. I have noticed that my full beam indicator comes on once I turn the car off and remove the keys.

I have double checked light switch positions and even pushed and pulled at the full beam stalk and that still doesn't turn of the dashboard indication off, also to make things more complicated the fault comes and goes.

There is no problems with the actual lights as they operate in the correct sequence the dashboard indications work correctly with the Ignition or engine on. The bulbs fitted are Phillips h1 bulbs not an aftermarket HID kit.

Any Ideas on where to start looking for the fault will be appreciated

Thanks for those suggestions stuart :)

I only have a handheld autel scanner which didn't seem to show anything, I need to invest in a proper version of VagCom. I had a little play will pulling fuses and also disconnected the bulbs while the key was removed the indication was still on the dashboard. My plan is to get under the dashboard next week (work permitting) and had a look around, I'm hoping its not something with the live fuse box behind the glove box
