Take a look at these 4 designs and let me know which ones you think would suit a white Octi best. Looking at 16 inchers.

Remember that the TDi has drums on the rear, so the 5 spokes would allow the drum to stick out.

Yup, you may have guessed that I like #2 the best. Never seen them on another car before and they have a nice 1 inch deep dish to them!

P.s. I know these particular ones have 4 holes, but I can get the same design with the correct PCD.

I don't fancy cleaning No 2. Thats an all day job.

Any wheel with nuts and bolts on (be they real or fake ) you will end up hateing after about 3 months.........they will take at least 2 to 3 hours to clean properly .......get some nice plain 5 spoke wheels, rs6 look nice on an octy.......but thats just a personnal opinion .........

Friend just called and told me about these 17" rims he's selling with tyres.

Any one has a similar design on their car or seen another with it? I feel the split spokes look too "light" on a heavy rear end of the Octi.

Out of the original ones posted - number 2 look the best on their own but personally I do not think that they would suit the Octy.

A set of 16" alloys off a vRS estate would probably look better.

Just my 0.02c worth

No.2 will suit the Octi, but 17" size. Those are the same rims Fab Design make for AMG cars, seen them around on SL55s and S55s.

I think 16" rims (aftermarket) look a bit too small on the Octi, try and go for 17"s, if you're interested. If 16", go for the 3rd set...deep dish always looks good.

EDIT: Couldn't resist...lowered the barge and it looks goood....

:D Does look good ......but I like going everywhere round here and with it any lower than it is the car is useless.........it's the main reason I give the Vrs octy estate the elbow.

It does look high in the normal pic but it's on my drive which is quite steep and when you stop and put the handbrake on the whole suspension moves and raises the car up....it's not normally that high

trust me, I am soooo tempted to go for 17's! But, with the state of our roads here, I think i have to give in to reason. Or suffer cracked rims every 2 months!

Personally I like #3, but wheels are are a heart over head choice ... spending time cleaning is the price you pay for having taste :)

Agree 17's look better though ........

Advantage of having kids is that you can get on the lads PS2 and on games like Gran Turismo you can visit the accessory shop and play about with various styles and see which looks better before you buy ! Not sure if they have Octy's though - you may have to find a similar profiled car ........

go for 17's you wont need to worry about the roads here.... the vRS comes with 17's as standard and i dont have any problems.

i know someone that ran 19's on a vRS with lowered suspension that was set fairly hard and that still drove and handled ok.

I ran 225/40-18" on a set of 7,5x18" Mas Italy Sagitta on my old octy and that was lowered a good 3" newer heard the m touch the body or fenders and i drove 40000km on the

maybe u should check out that design they look really nice... have been thinking about them for my Fabia but they are not wide enough for the style im seeking (german!!) so decided to go for some carline 9,5x17"

I would go for 18" since the price vs. looks is much better than 17" and there is not much change in ridecomfort...

my mate ran on 8,5x18" A8 copys and there where plenty of room for them too...

I'd go for no.4 just cos they are easy to clean and they would probably look better then the others. Keep it plain and simple as we all know how fast wheel styles and crazes change.

Like Octygone says...... stick with the 5 spoke.

I'm running 19's at the mo and I haven't had no catching even with all the seats occupied.

So I'm sure that the deals that are about at the moment you could go for 17/18 inch and have no worries, so long as you get the correct offset.

  • 2 months later...

my 2 cents? none of the above :P

No really, if you have a white octi I would go for black VW OEM wheels (e.g. RS)

this would look really cool!!

Cheers

None of those, I'd go for something plain and chunky, probably five spoke, because thats the classic style as far as wheels go. Something like an Audi TT 5 spoke...

Slightly off topic, but why can I see who's voted for what in the Poll in this thread and not in other threads?.

I like big chunky 5-spoke wheels, but then again, I'm biassed. ;)

I'd rather keep it simple. I have the same as in ajprice's pic, and they're a doddle to keep clean.

I do think a simple chunky desing suits the style of the WAG group of cars.

When you create a poll you can set it as a private poll with users choices hidden , or not.

Oh , and back on topic I'm not a fan of any of these wheels.

Chunky solid looking wheels look best
