so my 2011 VRS extended warranty (approved used one from skoda dealer) will end on 11th April. 

 

when i query the extended warranty at skoda dealer, they gave me this link https://www.insurewithskoda.co.uk/Products/ExtendedWarrantyCover/

 

got quote for all component cover, no excess and more than 15k miles per year for £231 for 12 months 

 

my car is 46k miles but had a new engine fitted last August by warranty so did about 8k miles since. 

 

is the warranty any good? should i look at different warranty companies?

'With Skoda', 'Skoda Approved',  'By Skoda' etc is what you want.

 

No point going with some other Warranty Provider that then says 'Known Issues'.  

 

Skoda (VW)  know all the issues,

and they are selling you insurance & peace of mind with a Warranty, hard to better that.

That's why cheaper than what I've been quoted. Same 2011 cave. All components, no excess and 15k is coming out at £358.60!? :-0

£238 when I do a 2010 with 57,000 miles and £250 excess on all components, under 10,000 annual miles. I will check 15,000 later.

would the system know i have a new engine fitted last Aug when i enter my number plate? hence the cheap price?

It looks like the right price. And as to taking cover if someone uses a car for Business Use then best check the Exclusions for Certain commercial use. It can void the cover, courier, hire cars, driving school etc.

This is true. When I asked about extended warranty, my dealer said he could take my money but if things went pear-shaped and Skoda sent a "clipboard" Down to inspect any requested repair, they would most likely knock back the claim, stating I am a commercial user. (Driving instructor). Not really fair as I could rep, up and down the motorway all week long, piling on the miles or be using it as a taxi, remove insignia and no-one would know.. I would have to remove duel controls and hope no-one notices the linkages.
