My Octavia got climatronic. Hot air blows only when you turn on 26° or MAX, 25°and lower blows cold. Expansion tank got normal level, no leak or coolant smell. What is that then????

Could be the vent temperature sensor playing up. Had to have mine replaced on both my Octys, although my symptoms weren't quite as you describe. Mine tended to be warm on driver's side but very cold on passenger side.

It's in the vent tubing somewhere on the near side. It's a dash out job to access. Sensor is less than £30 but labour is much more! Unless you can do it yourself.

Mines intermittently misbehaving too.  Unless I put it on low, it blows warm/hot air.  With it on low with AC on, it's lovely and icey cold.  On 18 (even with AC still on), the air is sometimes still very warm, and only gets hotter.   If I put it on 26C the air is actually quite hot, like a hand dryer.  Doesn't matter if it's on Auto or not, but only happens some times.

 

What could it be?

My guess would be the vent sensor but I am no expert. If you can get a check for fault codes it'll show up if that's the problem.
